St Lawrence Green

St Lawrence Green is a small area between Western Road, Landscore and the High Street.

There are at least 10 listed structures in this small area, all of which are Grade II listed.

The Chapel of St Lawrence stands at the end of a short track on Landscore, and is easily missed.

The outbuildings adjoining Number 17 St Lawrence Green, at the rear of the property, are also listed.

4 St Lawrence Green

This house dates from around 1730 and was a survivor of the first that destroyed much of the High Street a few years later.

8 and 9 St Lawrence Green

Both properties are thought to date from the 1850's, with number 9 have a late 1700's shop front taking up the ground floor portion of the front of the house.

K6 Telephone Kiosk

This model was designed in 1935 for the coronation of King George V.  This still contains a working telephone, as of May 2020.

5 and 6 St Lawrence Green

Number 5 St Lawrence Green dates from the 1860's with number 6 possibly being built in the 1700's and refurbished in the 1860's.

Number 6 was built as a shop with accommodation above it.

Number 7 (painted green) is not listed.

Cross Base

This stone is medieval and is all that remains of a cross.

Queen Elizabeth Higher School, South Range

Opened in 1860 this is just one site occupied by the school, which was designed in the Tudor style.

The Red House Arts Centre

An arts centre at the time the building was added to the listing, this 1850's build is now used by the Devon Mediation Service.  Part of the front was converted in to a shop.
